A Long-Awaited Homecoming: The Story of Fargo-Native Lt. Col. Wendell Keller

  • Fargo Air Museum 1609 19th Avenue North Fargo, ND, 58102 (map)

Fargo-native Wendell Keller (Lt. Col. USAF) served with the 433rd Tactical Fighter Squadron in Southeast Asia during the Vietnam War. On March 1st, 1969, Lt. Col. Keller's F-4D Phantom was shot down over the Ho Chi Minh Trail in Laos. It would take more than four decades for the wreckage to be discovered and the remains of two fallen heroes brought home.

In A Long-Awaited Homecoming, Keller’s son Michael will be speaking about being the son of a MIA pilot, as well as the process that went into finding and recovering the remains of his father. This is going to be an informative, unique and emotional presentation, which we believe is a perfect fit for the 50th Anniversary of the end of the War.
