More than a Museum

There is nothing like seeing the amazement in someone’s eyes the first time they see a large aircraft up-close. The Fargo Air Museum has many activities for every age, child to adult, keeping that excitement engaged and alive. Truly hands-on, the Museum features flight simulators, drones, two aircraft for guests to climb inside, and more.

Flight Simulator Lab

In the Main Hangar, you can find four flight simulator bays each with their own unique set of controls and the option of virtual reality. Choose from over 30 different aircraft and fly anywhere in the world with real-time weather and air traffic.

Members receive four free sessions per person PLUS a discounted rate for more! Recommended for ages 10 and up. Learn more and book your session.

Drone Cage

Launch the propellers of a mini drone and soar high and low through the obstacles of the drone cage. Learn control of the mini drone’s movements to maneuver through patterns and perform tricks.

Members receive one free session per person per visit! Recommended for ages 6 and up. Stop by the front desk to get started or learn more.

Interactive Aircraft

Not all aircraft are off-limits! Take a seat behind the controls of a real Huey Helicopter cockpit or Polliwagen airplane painted like Dusty Crophopper from the Disney movie Planes. For the little aviators, purchase a token at the front desk and fly away on our airplane kiddie ride.

Custom Dog Tags

Head home with a customized, authentic dog tag from the WWII-era dog tag machine. Complete the dog tag with your choice of chain and/or silencer.

Kids Play Area

A designated space for young imaginations to explore, the kids play area features a collection of toys (some previously offered in the gift shop), coloring pages with crayons, age appropriate airplane books, and a movie on repeat.

Keep the exploration and creativity going by registering for an education camp - free and paid options available all year.

Aviation Library

Find yourself lost in a book at one of the midwest’s largest aviation libraries. Featuring stories of near and far, old and new, the extensive collection is carefully curated by a veteran volunteer.

Paper Airplane Station

Can you beat the world record for farthest flight by a paper aircraft? Complete the step by step instructions on the table, get ready to launch, and watch it fly through the hangar.
